Summer Worship

We began our combined summer worship services on May 11 and they will continue through May and throughout the summer, ending on August 31st.

During the summer  we will be using a variety of elements in our services.  Some services will seem more “traditional,” and others will be more “contemporary.”  Some will feature the Praise Band, others will feature a variety of other music.

Each Sunday has been planned with a particular musical theme.  We aren’t publishing it, because particular Sundays may change from what our  tentative plans are.  We hope everyone will have a chance to experience the richness of diversity in  worship our church can bring.

CSPC News, Notes and Reminders

Clarion Newsletter Deadline
is midnight Sunday, August 31.

Please submit your articles, photographs or classifieds via e-mail at billiegrantrn@cs.com or place in Billie Grant's family mailbox in the Narthex.

-----Volunteers Wanted-----
We need volunteers to teach Sunday School.  This year, the Preschool and Elementary will have a one room approach that will include singing, praising, learning, crafts, etc.  We are asking for 3 volunteers to work with this program.  So that everyone has a chance, we are asking that each group do one month at a time.

We are looking for a Children's Christmas Program Director as well as Middle School and Senior High Youth Teachers.

An easel with Sign Ups is in the Gathering Room.  Please sign up there, or email/call Sarah Cottongim at sarahec@fuse.net or 859.322.5937 for more information to volunteer.

Wanted:  Writers and Photographers for the Church Newsletter:  Share your church history stories or other articles pertaining to church life, spirituality or anything else you have written that you would like to share with your church family.
Clipart or photos to accompany your article are welcome as well.  Please email the editor at billiegrantrn@cs.com or place your article in Billie Grant's family mailbox.
2nd Annual White Elephant Sale
CSPC will host its 2nd Annual "White Elephant Sale" September 19, 20th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to benefit the Fellowship Hall Improvement Fund.  We ask that you donate 10% of your profits or even more if you like!  If you would like to volunteer to help any of these days with the sale, please contact OB Phelps.

The Freestore Foodbank is once again selling "lucky ducks" which are dropped into the Ohio River at Riverfest.  Each duck purchased at $5.00 will provide enough food for 20 meals for hungry people in our community (100% goes to the Freestore Foodbank).  Call 513.929.DUCK (3825) or buy online at rubberduckregatta.org  If you would like to bring your money to the office, along with your name, Kathy Vicory will  make the purchase for you.  The regatta will be held on August 31.

CSPC Building Fund Needs Your Help
As a reminder to current CSPC families and information for those who may be newer, we still have capital obligations on both
the church and other properties.

What can you do to help?

#1) Make a pledge to the capital fund. It’s never too late.
#2) Use the green giving envelopes in the pews to make a contribution to the capital fund at any time.
#3) Donate securities and /or stocks to the church. We have a contact at Merrill Lynch who can help you with this type of
transaction. Ask me for his name and telephone number.
#4) Make a reasonable effort to honor your 2007 pledge.
#5) Participate in the grocery gift reward programs. CSPC is affiliated with programs at both Kroger and Remke.

The money we earn from these programs goes into the Capital Fund.  It doesn’t cost you, the shopper ANYTHING! It is easy to
participate at both stores. During 2007, the grocery rewards program earned us $2,206.08 from Kroger and $291.09
from Remke. This money is deposited into the Capital Fund and is key in helping us pay the monthly mortgages. Since the
beginning of the programs, we've earned just over $17,000. How can you help?

  • Kroger: purchase a $10 gift card from Ginny Clark. Go to the service desk and add money to the card either by cash or
credit card. Spend the gift card when you purchase groceries and the church automatically receives a percent (4%) of
    your purchase.
  • Remke: give completed forms to the Remke service desk and designate the church to receive a percent of your
    purchases

That’s all you need to do. CSPC automatically gets a percent (1%) each time you shop. If you are interested in finding out more
or in purchasing a Kroger card, please contact Ginny Clark.
